2020 Krono - Echo of Light
We all experience time differently. For a small child, a minute can be an eternity, while grown-ups can breeze past their busiest years in what seems like a blink of an eye. In cities, some changes take place slowly and others at the speed of light. City lights turn on and off in pulses that set the beat for buildings rising and growing, bridges extending across waters and generations giving way to new ones. Where a moment ago was nothing, the city now sprawls. Krono presents us with visible echoes from the future as flashes of light.
"because the covid, we could not bring people in so we made Silo Sing. Audio could be heard outside the Silo and from gates you could see the light installion inside."
2021 Utu - Status of Dreams
Like a fog rising from the sea, a being that demands your attention is born inside the Silo. The synchronous dance of sound, light and fog within the space creates a form, which reflects your memories of dreams, your hopes and your stories arising from the subconscious. The fog is like tea leaves inside a teacup or a windswept cloud changing its shape and giving each observer a chance to wonder what will appear next. Utu is an art piece, which takes on different shapes and wants to wake city dwellers to dream.
"in 2021 we could only bring 50 people in the Silo."
2022 Ipnos - Whisper of Birds
The birds are released by sound and light towards the embrace of the urban sky in a dream world built into an old oil tank, where the laws of physics differ from the outside world. Ipnos is the finale of the Siilo soi (Silo sings) trilogy, which has brought not only light but also sound to the Silo 468 landscape work in Kruunuvuorenranta in two previous autumns. The series originated from the pandemic-driven need to bring art outdoors to be enjoyed safely.
